MARKET OVERVIEW

San Antonio:

Regional Employment

The seventh-largest city in the nation and among the top cities with a free business environment, San Antonio attracts even more companies in addition to the numerous Fortune

Skipcart, a fast- growing, venture- backed technology company will plant their headquarters at San Antonio and create 100 new jobs.

Matthews’ International Corporation will develop its $9M North American divisional headquarters and create 50 high-wage jobs.

SafeRide Health, a Californiabased healthcare tech company, will bring in a new operation in downtown San Antonio, bringing high growth logistics and engineering jobs.

Nissei America, an international plastics manufacturer, has also announced plans to move its US headquarters from Anaheim, California to San Antonio.

Navistar will be making the move to Texas to continue growing their commercial truck market. The expansion will cost $250 million and bring 600 new jobs to San Antonio.

San Antonio: Unique Appeal Among Texas Cities

The city has a large, highly educated, heavily bilingual workforce that grows daily, with new graduates and high net immigration from other states. With an 89.1 cost-of-living index and an average cost per square foot for Class A office space of $26.81—as well as more affordable housing and a comparatively low cost of living for employees—it is an attractive place to do business than other cities nationwide.

San Antonio: Demographic Trends

The area median income, or AMI, for the San Antonio-New Braunfels region, has increased from $62,100 to $74,100 for a family of four between 2016 and 2021, according to the latest figures released by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

San Antonio’s population growth far outpaces that of the US average, and the overall ten-year growth pattern is showing absolutely no signs of slowing down.
